About IBPS PO

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection also known as IBPS, is a recruitment body that was started with an aim to encourage the recruitment and placement of young graduates in public sector banks in India (except SBI). IBPS is governed by a board that includes nominees from government organizations such as the Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Finance Government of India, Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, National Institute of Bank Management, Indian Banks’ Association and the public sector banks. IBPS offers its services to banks in the public and private sectors, regional rural banks, and foreign banks. It also serves other financial institutions, including co-operative banks, insurance companies, academic institutions, and both private- and state-owned companies. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an organization that helps in assessment and selection of an individual for various organization at different posts. IBPS PO Exam inspects an individual on the base of Speed, Accuracy and Confidentiality in all its activities. IBPS provides its service to all Public Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, few Cooperative Banks, LIC & Insurance companies Regional Rural Banks, many Public Sector Undertakings of Non-financial sectors, Government Departments, State-owned companies and Corporations also avail its services. Some major universities and reputed Management institutes engage IBPS regularly for conduct of their “Admission Tests”.

IBPS has announced 6932 vacancies of Probationary Officer posts to be recruited for FY 2022-22 for 11 participating banks which have been tabulated in the detail below. Educational Qualifications: A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/Intermediate/ Graduation level. Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination. Age: Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years

 The online application link for IBPS PO 2022 has been made available on 02nd August 2022 and will be active till 22nd August 2022. As per the IBPS calendar 2022, the IBPS PO Prelims will be conducted on 15th, 16th, and 22nd October 2022 (tentatively). Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.  Phase – II: Main Examination Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 25 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests is online.

1. Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test has separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. 2. Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 25 marks is a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). Important Note – Marks obtained by the candidates in the Main examination will be considered for short listing for Interview and preparation of final merit list. Note: There will be negative marking for every wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main Examination for which there is a penalty of ¼ or 0.25 of the marks assigned to the particular question. 0.25 of the marks assigned to the particular question. C) IBPS PO Interview: The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The qualifying marks in interview are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weight age (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview for final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
