About IBPS PO
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection also known as IBPS, is a recruitment body that was started with an aim to encourage the recruitment and placement of young graduates in public sector banks in India (except SBI).
IBPS is governed by a board that includes nominees from government organizations such as the Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Finance Government of India, Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, National Institute of Bank Management, Indian Banks’ Association and the public sector banks.
IBPS offers its services to banks in the public and private sectors, regional rural banks, and foreign banks. It also serves other financial institutions, including co-operative banks, insurance companies, academic institutions, and both private- and state-owned companies.
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an organization that helps in assessment and selection of an individual for various organization at different posts. IBPS PO Exam inspects an individual on the base of Speed, Accuracy and Confidentiality in all its activities. IBPS provides its service to all Public Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, few Cooperative Banks, LIC & Insurance companies Regional Rural Banks, many Public Sector Undertakings of Non-financial sectors, Government Departments, State-owned companies and Corporations also avail its services. Some major universities and reputed Management institutes engage IBPS regularly for conduct of their “Admission Tests”.
IBPS PO 2018
IBPS has released the official notification for IBPS PO- VIII 2018 exam with an increased number of vacancies in comparision with last year’s notice (IBPS-VII). Total number of vacancies this year are 4102.
IBPS PO ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/Intermediate/ Graduation level. Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination.
Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years
IBPS PO 2018 Exam Dates
IBPS has released IBPS PO Exam Dates for the year 2018-19. IBPS PO 2018 Prelims exam will be conducted on 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st October 2018 and mains exam is scheduled on 18th November 2018. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts examination for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) and Clerical Cadre every year. IBPS will take CWE-VIII for Probationary Officers as an online exam in two parts:
- IBPS PO Preliminary Exam
- IBPS PO Mains Exam

IBPS PO 2018 Exam Centre
There is exam centre in every state and union territories i.e. 36 and the address of the venue will be advised in the call letters.
IBPS PO Salary
Approximate salary of bank PO is 35,000 – 40,000 and it may vary bank to bank. And other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in the company. Becoming a probationary officer in a public sector bank is a brilliant opportunity to start a promising career in banking sector.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Ø Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS.
Phase – II: Main Examination
Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 25 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests is online.

- Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test has separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
- Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 25 marks is a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
Important Note – Marks obtained by the candidates in the Main examination will be considered for short listing for Interview and preparation of final merit list.
Note: There will be negative marking for every wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main Examination for which there is a penalty of ¼ or 0.25 of the marks assigned to the particular question.

C) IBPS PO Interview:
The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The qualifying marks in interview are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weight age (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview for final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
